Now my psp system software is 5.00 M33-6 and when i tried to update my psp it says
“Connection to the server failed.
A DNS error has occurred.

now i went to the recovery mode just to see what was up and i noticed that the option under Configuration which was “Use M33 network update” was enabled. once i disabled it it was able to download the update. now my question is that if i download the update could it harm my PSP?
Since your PSP is on custom firmware, if the update completes then you will be back to the official firmware. I don’t think there should be any harm done to your PSP, but you won’t be able to use homebrew, downloaded games, etc.
