How loud could I get these speakers?
I have a .25 watt speaker at 8 ohms but I could put in a .5 or maybe even a 1 watt speaker at 8 ohms.
The listening distance is about 1 foot as the speaker will be modded into my psp which outputs .5 watts but I think I can hook up the left and right speaker connections together to get 1 watt.
The speaker is mainly external but has a piece of plastic over it with holes in it (which seems to make it louder)
Volume levels in db
Its quite noticeably louder with even just the .25 watt 8 ohm speaker. The psp shakes when I play music. and it doesn’t distort at all (or at least enough to be noticeable)
Without distortion, you’re only going to get slightly louder than the built in PSP speakers. Seriously, even 1 watt of mono sound is going to be pitiful. If the PSP puts out half a watt, it puts out half a watt into any speaker you’re plugging it in to (assuming same resistance), regardless of the speaker’s wattage rating.
