Why use Linux or another operating system on the PS3?
I went into the PSP modding I love, but someone can tell me what linux runnning on my ps3 will do for him, other than a web browser, which is 10 times better. You do not want to risk losing my $ 400 PS3 just to a web browser, you must run homebrew? I just need some information on what makes
From what I understand, in the purpose of installing an OS on a PS3 would be to use a PC. With Linux installed, you will be able to use OpenOffice for writing text documents, and using a web browser. Overall, with an operating system, your PS3 can be used as a PC.
PSP web browser question?
Can i run any other web browsers like safari or something like that on my PSP? The one it comes with is horrible, you know the Netfront one? Do i have to run homebrew to use another one. Thanks in advance!

Expect Safari soon, IF you have a hacked psp (>.> sh!)
Safari was just introduced to non-mac users about a month ago, so it’s a high possibility that those who homebrew/hack/use DA utilities will be able to use it soon.
That being said, the psp was not made for web-browsing, so it’ll always fall short of your expectations.
